Hello,

I'm working to resolve an error with our HP autoloader 1/8 G2. The device was running at a customers site without any problems, until they decided to create lots of dust near our devices.

Because of that, there is an unkown problem with our autoloader/tape-library.
What i've done is trying to gather some information with HP library & tape tools.
My device got recognized but when i want to perform an action on it, it runs SLOW, by slow I mean 30 minutes to click on an action I want to do (for example test) and again another hour to start the action.

Maybe there is someone with experience, or who can tell me if it really is broken or if I can fix it one way or another.

I also want to ask, is there a way to test the tape-library apart from the autoloader? I doubt it, but maybe someone got a work-around.

What kind of interface is this? SCSI? If so you may want to check cables and terminators to make sure they are good and not messed up.

Also since you stated it had a lot of dust around it, fun some cleaning tapes through it.
 
I've done cleaning with the cleaning tape. The connection that's used is at one side (tape library) SAS and at the other side (server) SCSI. I've replaced the cable but still no difference.
I've also waited for 1 hour to finish the health check of HP LTT. I'll provide the .XML file later on.

ok, the problem of the HP LTT is fixed, it now works rather normal (speed-wise) But I still have some errors when I run the LTO drive assesment.
