Its a Seagate STT20000A according to Windows. It handles 10GB native and 20GB compressed Travan20 (TR-5) media. I dont use 3rd party media, only branded Certance (Seagate) media.

I'm at a loss. The damn thing just one day stopped compressing my backups. The test backup I tried last night failed at exactly 10GB. I'm using the Windows Backup utility, as I thought Veritas was fucking things up. So I formatted a spare server and tried then. Still no go. Drivers for this model dont exist on Certance's site.

Any thoughts?

Just pulled the bitch ass thing out and Windows is reporting the thing wrong. Its an STT320000A.

Time to yell at Microsoft.
