I have about $1000 to spend from my tax return, and I think it's about time I updated my rig. Currently I'm running a P4 2.4, 1GB DDR 400, with an ATI 9800PRO 256, so I'm in the familiar situation of needing to update all of my cpu, ram, mobo, and vid card if I want to update any of them.

I know some of you are probably thinking the x1950gt is a little weak, but my thinking there is that I'd like to upgrade to a DX10 card once the competition picks up and they become more mainstream.

So, thoughts? My $1000 is in your hands...

i dont know to much about buying pc parts. so since you want some one to talk you into it. i would say go for it. im waiting for my new pc. i dont know how to put one together. so i had to order one. lol

however i personally would recommend Nvidia 8800gts or 7900gt . Everything else seems top notch !
