I was wanting to take apart my Maxtor 1 Touch 750gig external drive.

My friend was saying the drive inside should just be an internal ata segate drive. Is this the case? I would be able to use it as an internal drive, correct?

Thanks

Maxtor was bought out by Seagate a while ago, so in all likelihood, it would be a Seagate drive inside. :)

Oh, i don't care so much if it's seagate or maxtor, just wanted to make sure i could use it as a regular internal ata drive.

Yes, it's just a standard drive that you'll be able to use internally.

It'll be a normal drive, but i'm not sure if the serial number is linked to being an external product, or if they do just the drive, and they'll still honor the warranty. :)
