TheStreet is reporting that Take-Two Interactive has fallen upon harder times, with cash reserves draining quickly. GTA IV, which was previously slated for release in October, won't be ready until early next year. Analysts predict that it will be make or break for the company. While no one likes slipping release dates, everyone likes polished games, and it shows that Take-Two is serious about the quality of their next installment.

But the delay in the mega game's release has hurt Take-Two financially as it burns through cash and attempts to cut costs by restructuring its operations. Take-Two had $61.62 million in cash at the end of July, down from $138.15 million at the end of January.

You're telling me with all the GTA3, GTAVC, GTASA copies that have been sold across 3 platforms..... they're almost broke?

Something's not right there......

This wreaks of financial mismanagement. Half their games are big sellers. Just look at the GTA series and Bioshock.

yea all their games are huge and well enjoyed. Its hard to believe they have this big of a problem unless their management royally screwed up (which from the way things are looking is probably the case). they better still release gta iv for the pc

used to work for a games company as a tester. Never got paid regularly as upper management spent all the cash on expensive cars and houses. Went into liquidation owing us all 2 wage packets

That's the first thing I thought of too...

What company was that?

I don't think the company is out of money, I bet it's more along the lines of "We've greatly blown our budget and we're gonna cut back in man-power till then.". Take a look at the production of these games, and I can see how a few months can be a make-or-break for that team, but not the whole company.

My thoughts as well.
