Tagan 1100W??

bleh, another reason to avoid.

Tagan TurboJet 1100 W is labeled at 25º C and our friends at Planet3Dnow.de couldn’t pull more than 768 W from the +12 V lines (which are labeled 960 W) even at 25º C. What a bummer!

And for that price, you could easily get something that WILL do 1000w. Like the silverstone Olympia which will also be a lot cheaper.

Supposedly in stock this week!

Don't forget your 8% jonnyGURU discount! :D

A bit too loud for me. If you want something quiet in a 1kW, I'd suggest the Enermax Galaxy or even a Coomax CTG-1000 is quieter.

whaaaaaaaat.

i don't believe that.
the friggin coolmax is a vacuum!

25 dBA @300W or below, 30dBA@ 550W, 42dBA@ 1000W

25db IS pretty tempting, considering that my rig draws far less than that.

Tell me about it.

Seriously... It's loud. I have both the modular and non-modular 1kW SevenTeam and powering only a pair of 7800GTX's and a 4000+, the fan is noticable over anything else in the PC. Including when the GPU's are overclocked with the "run fans at full RPM" checked.

The problem is just in the design... Instead of a side by side design, the layout is back to front. Primary is in the back and secondary is in the front. There's only one fan and it's in the back sucking air over the primary. For there to be a second fan bringing cool air into the secondary half of the PSU, they'd have to extend the housing another inch. The thing is already 9" long!

I've had the Tagan at 1000W and it worked fine. So a site had one die at 768W? They got a faulty unit plain and simple.
