Tablet + Wired Speakers

I'm eternally frustrated with bluetooth for my general audio and playing music in the morning so I want to wire a tablet in to a set of speakers. I have a couple year old Samsung tablet that I currently do bluetooth into a speaker but half the mornings the bluetooth has dropped and I have to jump into settings to rejoin the speaker before I hit play on the music. What I'd like to do is have a set of "dumb" speakers that I can wire the tablet into. Anyone have any experience with a speaker that can handle USB input from a tablet to play music? I'm not an audiophile so I just need something that is decently loud that I can hear while in the shower next to the bedroom. Or am I better off getting a USB to 3.5mm jack adapter/splitter so I can still do power to the tablet and send the audio to the speakers?
 
US. Dac to 3.5 to powered speakers would be easy and fool proof. Better upgrade or change path later than if the USB and DAC are in the speakers.
 
Tidier, cable wise, to just run the one USB-C to the speakers but I hear you that it might be easier if the speakers are truly just dumb as a post and receiving audio. I might have to 3D print a better mount for the tablet to tuck away the adapter and tidy up the cables. Will have to do some research.
 
So much for that plan! I picked the tablet up off the slot on the wall this morning to see how I might deal with cable issues and the battery had swelled and split the display from the back cover. It was still working fine, oddly enough, but won't continue to use it. Might just rethink this from scratch instead of buying a new tablet.
 
i use anker bluetooth speakers and they hold on to the link for a long distance and walls in the way.

Same reason. Then I have to reconnect bluetooth every morning. Ideally I'm never going to get what I want. Sad part is that we used to have that capability even with something as "modern" as iPod adapted speakers where you could walk up and hit play and nothing had to connect to anything. The smarter we make things the more steps it seems to take to make it work.

My current plan is to connect a soundbar to the TV in the bedroom and run VLC off the ONN Google TV box with a USB drive of songs plugged in to it.

I have a bluetooth speaker I use occasionally. I just turn it on, then turn on bluetooth on my phone and it auotmatically connects, then just start playing music on my phone. Maybe it's easier for me because I don't use any other bluetooth devices.

My bluetooth speaker also has 3.5mm input. If yours has that you could use a simple USB-C to 3.5mm headphone adapter and connect it that way to your speaker, then all you need to do is physically plug your phone into that and hit play. There shouldn't be any issues worrying about your phone running out of battery like you would have with an old dedicated tablet. But you could do the same thing with any old tablet or phone, or even an old mp3 player.

If you want to use your TV and soundbar, you probably could just directly connect a usb drive of songs to your TV. Most TVs have usb-a inputs and let you play movies and music right from the drive.

that plus a pair of powered speakers. cheap computer speakers will already have a 3.5mm hard wired, or get a rca to 3.5 cable for better ones that dont.

The nice thing is, if you want to replace the battery, now you don't have to figure out how to unglue the screen ... Gentle pressure from within works wonders.

I was rooting through a box yesterday and found an old iPod shuffle. I am seriously considering seeing if I can load it up and plug it into a pair of speakers.
