tablets are really taking off, and will only continue to grow. maybe we could use a dedicated tablet section? if there is one already feel free to call me a horses a$$ and point me to it.

Most if not all actual tablet discussion tends to take place in the Mobile Computing area which is where it should be, I suppose. Can't see a reason to have a tablet-specific subforum - it's pretty easy to spot who's talkin' about what in that area. :)

Dont need to be a subforum for every passing fad.

Mobile computing is good enough IMO.

i highly doubt the tablets are a passing fad. i don't think thier going to replace laptops, but i definitely think tablets are here to stay.

netbooks are different. thier still a form of laptop, just a less powerfull one. but a tablet is a different concept.

Totally different. Because a tablet is not just a less powerful netbook with no keyboard.

They fall under mobile computing, unless there is a huge surge in their popularity, I don't see there being a subforum dedicated to them. What you could ask them to do is make Mobile Computing a gateway to the subforums listed as Netbook Forum, Tablet Forum, and Laptop Forum.

Don't know if it's worth it though. I use a laptop as my main PC, myself.

why would you need a netbook forum. a netbook= laptop minus cd drive, and a little smaller. same OS, same style of keyboard, runs the same programs, etc, etc, etc. i don't know why people try to seperate them. it's like saying Gaming desktop and a regular desktop, there the same thing, or at least fit into the same catagory.

Tablets on the other hand are completely different.

Gaming desktop and regular desktop ARE exactly the same thing one just plays games better.

I would love a tablet forum.

Totally different. Because a laptop is not just a less powerful desktop in a smaller package with an attached keyboard. Thank God we don't have a separate forum for that. Oh wait...

See how dumb your logic is?

That's why it's called "Mobile Computing", computers that are mobile, lol. Kinda includes laptops, netbooks and tablets. They are all designed to be "mobile".

The discussions we have had previously determined that the more you compartmentalize a forum, the more you add to the confusion and misplaced posts. Unless something is very unique and deserving of its own forum or sub-forum, its best left in a general forum.
