T240HD doesn't enter sleep mode over HDMI

I recently purchased a T240HD for a new machine I built. First 24" lcd I own (had a 19" CRT before) and it's a nice change. No complaints about it yet. The thing that's bothering me however is this: When it first arrived I had to use the DVI cable provided, as the HDMI cable I ordered took a while longer to arrive. Over DVI, the monitor turned off when the computer stopped sending a signal, when I hadn't used it for a while.

After I switched to HDMI, however, the monitor now only displays a "No Signal" message, and stays turned on. Was wondering if anyone had experienced something similar, or if anyone has any advice.

maybe try on the windows side of it? maybe on power setting in the control panel of windows?

That's pretty common behavior for HDTV's, the hdmi port is probably programmed that way.

The DVI and VGA ports are probably programmed to "assume" it's being used as a monitor, hence the monitor-like behavior.

Any reason you aren't using the DVI port? The picture quality should technically be the same as hdmi. Worst case scenario is you'd have to run a separate audio cable of course...
