T- Fill Line in Loop Question

So I am trying to have something answered that has been bugging me about my planned W/C set-up I am putting together this week;

-Does it really matter where the fill line is in the loop as long as the fill point is obviously at the highest point in the loop?

I will be using a DD FillPort and was planning on T-lining into the loop somewhere to make a fill point. I don't want any type of reservoir and I did not want it at the inlet of the pump as I have seen in many pictures due to asthetic reasons.

If I were to put the T near the top of the case where my radiator inlet/outlet is would that have any effect on flow at all?

If you want to use the line just to fill, you want it at the highest part of the loop. It really doesn't matter where.

Have you taken into account, however, how you will drain your system? I would think draining would be difficult if you put a t-line at the top of the loop. You might even be better off just putting the T at the lowest point, and have a tube go up to the top of the case. If you did this, you could just disconnect the tube from the fillport barb if you wanted to drain...

Hmm, I suppose that is why that is the most popular place to put it. I just did not want to have a third hose running all the way up the case. Just don't think it looks clean.

I do see your point and it is a good one. Might just have no choice in the matter then.

I have to dissagree. I have seen many systems (mine included) that have a bottom T-Line fill tube. Just go and get yourself a Fillport from Dangerden and you are set, it looks very clean.

I thank you for your post Bishop but am sure you can understand that I am able to form my own opinons on how I like the neatness of the tubing inside my case. I mean no disrespect by this, just stating my position. I don't really like the look of the T the way I have seen it time and again, so I wanted to hide that all together from plain view meanwhile still using the DD fillport. I just have issues with getting things to look EXACTLY how I wanted them to, so I am trying to make it perfect.

It's really not a huge deal in either case, just wanted a second opinon because I knew something obvious like bleeding the system is what I would overlook by placing the T higher in the loop.

It needs to be at the bottom, so I will just think of some other way to make it look the way I had envisioned it while still maintainig functionality.

BISHOP, is your case in the gallery? If not, can you post a screenie of it here?

Yeah, eveyone has their own opinion, I can respect that. I was just commenting with bias.

Thats a cool rig Bishop, is that DFI board in there?

In any case, I will take the advice of everyon and just put the T in the bottom of the loop. I think I have figured out a way to route it neatly as well.

Should have everything done in the next 10 days, I'll be sure to post some pics.

It looks like the PCI shots where photoshopped in on that pic, lol.

As for the t-line you could always make it curve around the window along the side of the case, so it is out of sight completely.

T-Lines suck, reservoirs are the way to go!

LOL, yeah! I want something that most likely will crack or leak within a year. Besides, the new DD Fillport make using a T line so easy :D

I agree with you there. One problem with PVC is that every time I have seen it, it looks kind of ugly. At least a bayres looks cool.

You know, to each his own right? If you like PVC go for it, it's just not for me.
