T-Balancer (fan controller) - questions!

Im getting Lian Li v1100 plus 2. It will have 4 fans total.

Im thinking about automated fan controller. Hook up some probes on CPU, SB, GPU and HDD and let it modulate fans as required. This way i make sure i dont have excessive noice or, when under load, temperatures.

Good idea?

Speedfan is software program that will control the mobo fans in based on your system temps. Look into it it might be capable of doing it for you.

But mobos dont measure GPU and HDD temps...

GPU, not any that I know, but Speedfan is detecting my HDD temp right now. (It doesn't get my RAID array, but I leave that fan at 100% anyway)

I'm simply pointing out an alternative. I have the CF setup and do not have T-Balancer setup.

As such, I can not say which is better or worse. The CF setup works quite well for me, tho. In the end, look over the feature sets and make your own decision.

How does it do it?

Most HDD's have internal temp probes, and the ability to report that to the motherboard. You may have to enable SMART monitoring in your motherboards BIOS for the harddrives.

Also most GPU's have their own temperature reporting as well.

Ah, sounds cool lol never knew HDDs had temp sensors in them...
