Hey with the main rig in my sig won't post. I have tried everything known to man except pulled the board out and put it on a cardboard box.
Here's how I got into trouble. I needed a floppy drive, which I normally don't run. The floppy I hooked up could take a power connection right side up or right side down. I honestly don't remember which way I hooked it up, but regardless the floppy started smoking. So I shut the rig down and disconnected it. Now it won't post. Like I said I tried everything in the book to get it to post. I've tried the processor in another board, it's good. I tried a different power supply. The memory is still good. The video card is still good. I've ruled out everything but the board. I even tried an over night CMOS reset.
So my question is, could that floppy really smoke my Foxconn board, and nothing else? Could the BIOS be shot? Anyone ever dealt with foxconn as far as maybe getting a new bios chip?
I'm hoping someone can relate to this. Seriously... That is the last time I hook up a floppy to any machine.
