I've tried many different files and none will play correctly all of a sudden. In bsplayer they skip and eventually the program freezes, in media player it'll show the first frame and eventually freeze.

I've reinstalled my video card drivers but no luck. Avi files play fine, I'm too lazy to test a .mov file. Specs in sig, thanks for any help. Running XP Pro SP2 btw.

i had to lower hardware acceleration for vids to play right on my old laptop

Use the Windows Video Decoder Checkup utility to determine if your using a supported MPEG codec.

Agreed. I had the same problem all of a sudden last year with Mpeg2 files freezing and even viewing a folder with them in it would crash Windows explorer. I ran the Windows Video Decoder Checkup utility to find out none of my installed codecs would work correctly with WM10. I have a GeForce card so I bought the Nvidia Pure Video Decoder Gold package and ever since I installed that I never had a problem again.
