So today i got some more RAM exact same as before. When i put it in i started to recieve windows startup errors saying that important system files where missing and such so i ran the memory diagnostic tool and within seconds it said there was a memory hardware problem. So i proceded to turn off, unplug and remove the new RAM. Only when i restarted i recieved a beep code of one long one short which according to my manual means memory or mobo error. I restarted and I got no beep codes, nothing(I usually get one short beep meaning hardware OK), my hard drives would spin up then stop. upon restarting once more the cpu fan would spin up then come to a stop. Now my system is bricked and I cant seem to figure it out.

Things I have tried:
Reseating Ram
Trying each module in each different dimm one at a time removing CMOS battery everytime aswell.
Reseating all power connectors.

Would really love any suggestions that would bring me anything closer to solving this issue. Cant think of anything short of trying a different mobo.

Last time anything like this happened it was when my bios got corrupted by a hard-lock during bios update.
 
took the RAM out and reset the CMOS still nothing. Thinking maybe i should try another mobo.

P.S. sory i dont respond that fast between going to work and trying to use my moms laptop which she is almost always using i dont get much time here.

Any beep codes without RAM and without Vidcard? If not, re-seat the CPU and see if that gives you any error beeps. If not, it might be a mobo or PSU problem. Coolmax huh? try another PSU before trying another board.
 
ill try taking out the video card and also just unplugging it to try to force a beep. I dont think taking it out will do anything because i also have onboard or will the combo of having no RAM for system and on-board do it. the only other psu i have is a 550W that is failing. if i get nothing ill try reseating the cpu, i just hate to waste thermal paste. i do also have an Nvidia 570 mobo i might try that. will report back.

Ok, I did all of the above only to recieve the same results. Switched to dif mobo same thing. So thinking it may be PSU. I am willing to buy a new one since that was the next upgrade for me, was looking into this one .

Holy wow, thats a lot of dough and a lot of power! With your sig specs, you may not even reach 375W at full load, so a good 500-550W would suffice, and thats with some decent headroom. If you want even more, move up to a 600W, but you definitely don't need a 1kW PSU. ;) Stick to Corsair, PC Power & Cooling, Seasonic, BFG LS/ES, Antec Earthwatts, etc. If you want to go overboard, the 750 QUAD or TX 750 are good choices for around $100.
 
OK. New PSU same results... What now? New mobo(im not sure on the condition of the other one i tried)? I just cant figure it out...
 
I know it's unlikely, but do you have a spare cpu to try. I'm asking because you have already tried 2 different motherboards and 2 different power supplies along w/ trying all the ram sticks individually. The chances of 2 bad mobo/psu seems pretty slim. Did you try reseating the cpu, make sure nothing is grounding out in your case?? It seems like a long shot, but is it possible the new ram damaged the cpu somehow because of it having an intergrated memory controller? I know when the i7s came out everyone knew high voltage ram could kill the cpu, so I guess it's possible that ram itself can damage the cpu. Hope you figure it out
 
It's the no beep code thats getting me. i have reseated everything many times now. I was saying trying another mobo because my other one had some problems before. I sold my spare CPU a while ago. Im friggin tired of these Gigabyte boards i had to rma the old one once and this one twice.
 
Whats the new PSU? make/model?

That sux, I'm lovin my gigabyte boards, lol.

Yah, not sure what else to try aside from another board and/or CPU.
 
Problem fixed it was the mobo. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. Now ive got a 700W PSU for sale lol. New mobo in sig.
