ASUS A7N8X-E DELUXE
AMD BARTON 2500+ 333FSB
THERMALTAKE VOLCANO 10+
CORSAIR XMS 512MB PC3200 (2-3-2-6-1T)

Will this be a good setup to overclock to a 3200+ / 400fsb? I hear many people saying that this is the easiest processor to overclock.

he means recent bartons are multiplier locked, so attempt to get a week 39 and under barton.

yea but i thought you don't even need to use the multiplier to overclock this

i heard you simply crank fsb to 200 and vcore to 1.7, and you have an instant 3200+?

The volcano 10 isn't that good of a cooler, go with something like the volcano 12 or go all out and a thermalright sp97.

Memory seems good, but if you want higer oc's (assuming you get a locked CPU) you will need faster rated memory, or just run the fsb out of sync (which really hurts AMD chips)

Just my $0.02

I would get the Abit NF7 V2 for $99.99, best overclocker out there. And excellent support from abit.

you have chosen a good mobo and cpu
try getting a better hsf, possibly a TT SilentBoost or the Zalman CNPS 7000A-AlCu
both can be found for around 30 bux

they just did a review of that board and chip here and said they couldnt get the FSB up even to 215, which is what mine maxes at now and its running great, prime and everything.

im gonna try for higher with some PC3500 memory. put a few extra bucks into it and get some faster ram.

really tho, you might as well spend another $100 or so and go for an AthlonFX 3000 and one of the new boards for em.
