Please help!

Alright, here's the preface:

I recently decided to get my system on the overclocking bandwagon as I recently upped my cooling ante with the Scythe Ninja and a P180. Temperatures are so good that they're hard to believe, so I thought what better a time than now to get some OC'ing done? After following Eclipse's OC guide, I found the maxes of each piece of my hardware, and some of you know I was having trouble getting my AGP/PCI lock to stay locked. Finally I did get them to stay locked, and got everything set up. Now here's the issue: I haven't set up the final OC yet, and as of now (except for my vid card) everything is running at stock speeds.

Here's the problem:

This all started shortly after I found the maxes of my hardware. I've been noticing some stability issues, but nothing consistently unstable. By this I mean one day it was a BSOD, the next day Firefox would just take a crap and crash, the next day everything would slow down to a crawl necessitating a reboot, and so on. So first I thought, its the RAM. That would account for the random nature of the problems, and so I popped up an instance of Prime95. I ran the blend test, and sure enough it failed. I know that it had been stable prior to the OC'ing, and now it failed. OK, so now on to a more focused RAM test: Memtest86. Goes a full pass with no problems at all. WTF?!

So now, I'm faced with a problem: What in gods name is wrong? Failing hard disk? Motherboard fried when I found the hardware maxes and the AGP/PCI bus wouldn't initially lock? I hadn't pushed the vcore past 1.65 (1.5 is stock), and temperatures had always been far below worrisome (below 40C). In fact, it wasn't at 1.65 for longer than 15 minutes while I went through Prime95 to find my CPU max.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, hope you can help!
My system specs are in my sig, and I can give more information if need be.

Does anyone know of any diagnostic software I could use to test the stability of my motherboard?

I'm considering dumping my current mobo and video card for the NF4X Infinity and a 7800gt, and sell my 6800gt. I'd like to be very sure that my current motherboard is F'd.

Double check your vcore and proc speed to double check that they're at stock. P95 blend test tests memory in addition to processor.

I'm checking that now. I have to mention that now when I reboot sometimes it won't enter the windows installation. I only do this because occasionally a program will just close on me. When it does I'm not able to open it again until I reboot. When this happened last time (not being able to enter windows) I tried to enter the bios to change my dvdrw drive as the primary boot disk so I could try knoppix, but it would hang before entering the bios.

Are there any benches to see whether my HD could be failing? Ugh..this is so frustrating because of the hang before the BIOS.

Sounds like a possible loose connection. Try taking everything out except the motherboard/cpu, ensure all the motherboard screws are secure, and just replace the ram, videocard and keyboard, leaving out any other cards, and keeping HD or DVD etc drives disconnected as well.

Try multiple boots and see if it's still failing to post.
