System sleep issues?

Hey guys,

I've been having some weird problems with my (custom) system for quite some time now that has prevented me from using the "Sleep" option in Windows XP, Vista and (now) Windows 7.

Basically whenever I put machine to sleep manually via the start menu it will not always "fully" wake up and return me to the desktop.

Also in other cases when I have a program (i.e. Smart Defrag, Jungle Disk, etc.) set to login and wake up the computer to perform a task, it starts up but just sits on a blank screen & never makes it to Windows. I then have to reset the machine and sometimes it will then sit on the boot/IRQ screen after the BIOS post making me have to reset it one more time.

Any ideas?

My system specs are:
  • Core 2 Quad Q6600 (B3 stepping)
  • eVGA nForce 680i (122-CK-NF68 w/ P33 BIOS update)
  • 4GB DDR2 RAM (2x2GB) G.Skill F2-8500CL6D-4GBNQ (1066 / 6-6-6-18/2T)
  • eVGA Geforce 8800 GTS (640-P2-N824-AR / SLi enabled)
  • eVGA Geforce 8800 GTS(640-P2-N821-AR / SLi enabled)
  • 300GB SATA/II HDD
  • 400GB SATA/II HDD
  • Thermaltake ToughPower 850W (W0131RU)
  • Windows 7 Professional (x64)

System Voltages:
  • 1.18 Volts (CPU VCORE)
  • 1.62 Volts (VIN1)
  • 4.78 Volts (+5V)
  • 3.18 Volts (+3.3V)
  • 1.19 Volts (CPU FSB)
  • 1.58 Volts (VIN2)
  • 1.82 Volts (DRAM)

I've also got the CPU-Z report as well if anyone would like to see it if they think that would help :)

Oh and I'm running the latest nForce chipset (v15.51) and video driver (v191.07).

So...any ideas? Any help?

make sure that in the bios its set to S3 or S4 standby mode i believe it is.. usually by default its suppose to be on.. but my bet is that its not and thats whats causing the issues..
 
I haven't tried lately but I think I've tried the different settings in my BIOS with no success. Right now it is set at "S1 & S3" which I assume is S4, right?

Could this be tied to maybe the motherboard not being grounded properly, RAM voltage settings or RAM timings? The RAM in the system right now is not what I had in it when I originally built it b/c one of the sticks (a set of (4) OCZ DDR2 SLi Platinum 1GB sticks.)
