System running slow??

Hello all, got the new rig up and all yet it doesnt seem all the fast. What i have in the rig:
XP +2000
1G mushkin pc3500 ddr433 lvl2
ATi 9700 pro agp
A7n8x dlx mobo
Maxtor diamond 120 gig
Maxtor 60 gig
Cdrom 52x
Using on board sound
Side note: using windows xp pro sp1
It seems it should be running faster in games yet i havent seen to much of a big boost in peformance compared to my older rig. I did a run in aquamark03 an got a score of around 31,000 minding you nothing it overclocked. Is that an okay score for my setup?? Please help me out. thanks

What do you mean by it seems to be running slow in games??


From the info you have given us and by looking at your Hardware I'm going to have to say that the only thing holding you back is your XP2000+ since it is only a 266MHZ FSB with 256K L2 Cache.
 
It just seems that it should be running i little smoother in games yet in many such as FFXI, I only get like 4,000 in the benchmarking. You think its just the processor thats holding me back??
 
processor is def. a set back in speeds, running p4 3.0 OC'd to 3.4 and ffxi runs like a god, 9800pro of course (128ddr).... side note, is that a good vid card or should i get a better one?... other than that piece of hardware you should be flyin through games...
