I have a small size setting for system restore 7.9gb 2%
My ssd has 20gbs filled
Is there a proper size for restore so I can safely use a restore point Should restore be the same size as ssd [win 7 pro]

Microsoft used to allow some ungodly amount starting in Windows Vista (20% or something crazy) which raped your storage after awhile. I'm not sure if they fixed the default in Windows 7+ or not, but I tend to set my to 5-10% where 10% seems reasonable for just about any situation you could imagine. I was a heavy user that constantly had system restores created in the background and 10% alloted me usually 3-4 weeks restoration if needed.

If you ask me, I'd just skip it and move to a solid backup solution where you create a full system image weekly and then incremental backups daily until the next full backup and save that to an external or non-SSD. It does the same thing but far more effectively whereas System Restore can only store critical operating system files to restore.

Just my two cents, but 10% seems like a good number and 5% would be the lowest useful number.
