I have been using RocketRaid controllers for a long time. I have built a new PC, which I am not using as I am running into some issues. My Raid controller seems to be working, though when I had 2 separate RAID setups the system crashed and would not reboot. I had updated the firmware on one pair of the 4 Samsung 840 pro 256gb drives so after removing the pair of drives that had originally been my install pair Raid1, I installed Win x64 ultimate on the remaining updated pair. I then reconnected the original pair as SATA III drives in my new pc and simple formated them individually so that I could upgrade them using the Samsung upgrade software.
Here is the question: I notice that each of these two drives has a 'System Reserved' partitiion of 100mb with a different Drive letter from the main portion of the drive. E.G., my G drive has an F system reserved partition and my H drive has an I system reserved partition. In addition each of the drives has a 102mb unallocated partition. While it seems that when I ultimately put these into RocketRaid controller I will end up with the same remaining size I would appreciate learning why these are present when my hard drives on this machine have no such partitions.
Thanks a lot,
