Jul 25, 2007 #1 D DaShogun n00b Joined Jun 27, 2007 Messages 4 After I overclocked a Pentium 4, my desktop displays crazy CPU speed values from 100Mhz to 2.6Ghz (changing everytime I reboot). However, CPU-Z displays the correct CPU speed. Is there a way to fix this? I attached a screenshot.

Jul 25, 2007 #2 D Drexl Limp Gawd Joined May 7, 2007 Messages 219 My guess is that Windows is reading the clock speed information from the chip (like data stored on it) rather than actually determining what it is running at. Note how CPU-Z has the rated speed in the "Specification" field.
