System powers but no screen or post, HELP!

As it says I was working inside my system today, basicly had everything but the mobo out. Now when I power it up, the fans spin and hd works and whatnot, but nothing comes up on screen nor do I hear any post.

Please respond ASAP with any suggestions to try! Thanks
 
1) reset the cmos
2) keep trying sometimes it needs to kick it
3) check all the power cables
4) check the video card
5) set all overclocked settings back to default
6) get back to us.
 
Don't forget to try booting outside the case if everything suggested above fails (just to check everything works).
 
I took the battery out for like 30 seconds, do I need it to be longer to clear the CMOS? Also I took my VC out all together and tried to boot and it didnt give me any post errors, idk if that would be a problem. The little standby light on the mobo turns on but I figure thats negligable. Checked the wires 3 times, theres not too many connections that could affect it.
 
Update: Kept battery out for 5 minutes and did the CMOS jumper to no avail. Still no display or post. What can I try to do aside from taking the entire system out and building it naked? What situation would force a post beep so if i see its reacting. Will the system post with no ram?
 
hmm...I just noticed that you said you didn't move the mobo...doh ><

Anyway...check your mobo manual for beep codes. Some mobos do it...some don't, but if you remove the RAM, and assuming the cpu and mobo work, it should beep.

Another idea would be to reseat the cpu...it works..sometimes. o_O
 
OK, I pulled RAM and I did finaly get some sort of a bios post. I assume this is a good sign, what could it possibly mean now. Maybe my VC got messed up and just wont work? I'd assume if the CPU got f'ed that would post something. I added a new HSF to the cpu, put heatspreaders on my ram, and put AS5 on the NB today before putting it all back together.

Since I did get a post from missing ram, what should I try next?

maybe you should check all these, and how high is your ram overclocked.

you can try ram in different slots..
 
I had same problems when my AthlonXP 3200+ died.... Maybe your CPU is dead. Try to get another one and put it in...
 
I'll try ram in different slots, wouldn't there be a POST error if the cpu was messed up?
 
Wow... after all that it turns out when I put the pins for the Videocard power molex back in, i flipflopped the +5 and +12 volts, surprisingly after correcting them my card isnt toast :D
