iv recently built a pc and it wont pass the system post everytime i turn it on. i would say 5 out of 10 times it works, and boots into windows. but when it doesnt work.. all the fans are running, everything is on but nothing comes up on my monitor and theirs no beap. sometimes i can reset 10+ times and it wont work.

as soon as i clear cmos it works . i get into windows and things are gravy, i can play games, do anything without a prob. but as soon as i restart the system or turn it off and on again... it often goes blank and doesnt boot. cant even get into bios.

I cant think what it can be . I have updated the bios which made it a little bit better in terms of passing the post but still fails alot.

Everything is plugged in properly in the right sockets. I have a Phoenix-Award BIOS which im crap with. I dont undrstand most of it.

What USB devices are you running? I have seen some weird ass shit happen with certain USB mice and keyboards and a few external USB hard drives, if plugged in, the system rarely will POST....unplug them, power up, everything is fine....

Just a thought....

gee. an asus a8n series having booting problems? check the motherboard forum and the amd motherboard forum for about a million threads. maybe someone came up with something. hope it works out for you.

Used to have the same problems on my old asus board.

God I hate asus.

I ended up selling the board.

Good luck!
