Looking for a bit of help as I'm about to rip the last hair outta my head after today :(

Installed a Athlon X2 6000+ into my MSI K9A2 CF-F V2 this morning and I get no video, no post, no beep codes whatsoever. I've done every I can think of, striped it down to the bare minimum, cpu, vid card, memory (one stick at a time). Nothing else plugged in, cleared the cmos (while power supply was unplugged), removed the battery for an hour, even removed the mb from the case and tried to boot just in case it happened to be shorting on the case. Hell, I even removed all the memory to try and force a beep code and still nothing.

When I power up, all the fans on the cpu, vid card and case fans kick on and seems to be like normal, just no video and no post. I even put in my old processor and the problem persists. Only thing i can think of is the mb is toast.

Any other input would greatly be appreciated, Thanks.
 
RMA'd both the MB and 6000+ this afternoon, have a Biostar A770 A2+ on the way to test and see if the old processor is toast or not. Worse comes to worse I'll have a htpc with the old parts.
 
More than likely the MB. Was the motherboard installed in the case, or outside of the case? The only other thing that could cause that issue is a motherboard short against the case but guessing you already tried that. Also may want to double check that cmos jumper against the latest manual. Have seen a few times the manual being updated to reflect the correct cmos jumper setting.
 
yeah, I pulled the MB before I installed the new processor, then reinstalled it. Tried firing it up outside the case after the problem started, I also had an MSI tech on the phone when I tried clearing the cmos jumper for the 100th time :) He told me to to start the RMA process.

Should have the new MB here by Thursday, keep you guys informed.
 
It was the motherboard, got that new Biostar board and the old processor fired right up and has been running perfect since. Now the only issue I have to resolve is the fact that UPS lost the 6000+ that was rma'd. :mad: Told me to start the claim process on Monday, anyone have any idea how long this takes to get your money back from them?
