This is driving me crazy.
I am trying to move my Windows 7 from HDD to SSD. I have shrunk the OS partition to 30GB and then I create the system image on an external USB hard drive.
I then use the recovery cd to start the image restore procedure, select the correct image on the external HDD, the SSD is detected and set on AHCI, then right after I confirm that the procedure will delete all data I get this error
"The system image restore failed:
A Volume Shadow Copy Service compont encountered an unexpected error. Check Application event log for more information.
(0x80042302)"
I only found this http://social.technet.microsoft.com...l/thread/04ced57a-1f9b-4fdd-8fba-c962473fe5c4 but the solution does not work.
Any ideas?
thanks
