I just built a new system with a ASUS P9X79 PRO board. After a while I started noticing that in Windows, randomly the system will start to bug out, where it gets really slow and unresponsive and explorer stops working, then eventually it just freezes up and I have to kill the power. When I reboot, it works fine for a bit, then the same thing starts to happen after a bit. I initially suspected the RAM, since usually strange problems like this are caused by RAM, but after swapping it out for different sticks, the same thing happens. I'm really baffled as to what could be causing this. Kind of lost where to go next. I ran PC-check and did all the motherboard tests and it passes, so I don't think its the board. I also have the most up to date BIOS.

Technically, both sets of RAM I tried are not on ASUS' QVL , but I somehow doubt that's whats causing the locking up. Does anyone have any ideas? Attached is a link to a youtube video of what happens after the slowdown/lockup starts:

Silly fool Windows 8 isnt made for desktops and its in beta its like Pista man get rid of it :D

Well from more research it seems like this is a new bug in the Win 8 Release Preview, as a lot of people are having the same issue. Really frustrating to see a showstopper bug pop up that never happened in the developer release.
