heres a screener to show my extended memory settings and current overclocked settings

i know this cpu is good for 3Ghz on nearly stock voltage on the EVGA NF41 board i had

i think the more aggressive memory controller settings of the DFI are what is making me hit this wall where i am now...it's like...it runs completely stable the way it is now but 5 more Mhz and it wont boot for some reason

would appreciate some direction

what do i need to do with my system to get it to go further, as mentioned, this CPU would do 3Ghz in a different board without so many options, i dont know exactly where to start, i was hoping to find someone with a similar setup who could make suggestions

you're running with a Trp of 2. that is way too tight. not that i know what ram you're using, its still too tight for basically any ram.

try setting
TCL-TRCD-TRP-TRAS in that order to 2.5-3-3-7 see what you come up with. your confirmed 3.0ghz cpu not being able to get past 2.5 could also be due to your voltages... it would be quite a miracle if you hit 3.0 on stock voltage, so up that too. Running at anything below 1.4v is very conservative

btw i had a lanparty and a 939 opteron chip before this and I couldnt get past 2.6 ghz with anything so you may consider yourself lucky to even have a 3.0ghz chip at all, and i believe youll get the DFI to work for you.

yeah, right now stable settings are 1:1 230Mhz

2.5-3-2-5 1T @ 230Mhz on the memory, which is GSkill F1-3200PHU GZBX CAS2 PC3200 memory, 2x1Gb

i tried loosening to 3-3-3-7 2T and even gave the memory 2.8v and still 235Mhz wont even boot, tried 1.4v on the CPU and 235Mhz wont boot....runs stable at 1.344v at 230Mhz....

so i think it's one or some of the other memory timings in the memory controller, not the common memory timings
