System Failed, need advice on maintaining OS

Today something in my system failed (I suspect the video card). The computer boots and the monitor never makes a connection to the computer. Anyway, so I'm planning a new build and want to keep my current operating system install functioning with the new system. Will I have an issues booting to it using all new hardware?

The OS I am running is Windows xp 64-bit, I just have too many things on there and do not want to install all my applications again (some of which I no longer have a hard copy of).
