Hello,
I'm new here, so first, I'd like to thank you all for having me and thanks in advance for the advice.
I have the following system:
e6550 @3.2ghz cooled by ASUS Arctic Square (Idle at 30 degrees C, load at 48)
EVGA 650i ultra Mobo, NB cooled by Thermalright HR-05
4gb Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 - cooled by OCZ ram cooler (i don't know if this was needed, but the Ram was super super hot, and my OCD side had to do something about it)
8800 Ultra OEM (Idle at 45 degrees C, load at 75)
2x 36gb Raptors in raid 0 + 1 500gb Seagate 7200.10
DVD-RW drive
Thermaltake 600w PS
Cooler Master ATC-101 cast (circa 2002) - 1x80mm intake, 2x80mm exhaust, Antec Coolspot cooling the raid 0 setup)
Dell Ultrasharp 1907
The system runs great, but when i play crysis (1280x1024, all extra high settings) it will crash at certain spots when a big explosion happens. The entire system just cuts out. Temps are within operating range and about the same as many other's with a similar system. This leads me to believe that it might be the power supply not have enough juice, but according to several Power Supply calculators, they say 600w is plenty. I just wanted to know what you guys thought of my system and if you think it is the power supply that is the culprit before I purchase a new PS ( i was thinking of 800+ watts if that were the case)
I know that an 8800 ultra is overkill for a 19" monitor, but bear in mind that i will upgrade eventually, i just haven't found a monitor that i wanna settle on yet, the 1907 has been awesome for the past 3 years.
