Hello All,

Building a system for < $1500; my current build came in at just over $1100. The system is meant for gaming. I already have a SATA hard drive and optical drives, so they are intentionally left out. Probably won't overclock.

Thinking of throwing in a UPS with the extra cash, but feel free to offer advice on what you would add with the leftovers (or maybe I could just save it :) ). Anyways, please let me know how this looks.

Thanks!

The only thing I'd change is the RAM:

$190 - G.SKILL 4GB(2x2GB) DDR2-800 F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ

The PQ kit is CL5 instead of CL6 and cheaper than the MQ kit.

You could also try some Arctic Cooling MX-2 thermal compound if you want. Supposedly, its better than AS5.

What size monitor do you have?

You can get ballistix for $55 for 2gb, or $110 for 4gb MIR,FS right now. Many other deals in the $50 to $65 range right now.

I run 4gb of these at 940, CL5, with ease.

ooopps; I mean 920. But I'm sure they could do better; I'm not an aggressive overclocker.

If I wasn't clear enough, CL5 is better than CL6, with regards to the RAM, hehe.

If you can get in on that Ballistix deal, its nice, but not really needed for your CPU. Your CPU has a high enough multiplier that you don't need the overclockablity of the Ballistix.
