I'm looking for a good benchmark utility that tests everyday functionality and speed of a computer. What I'm getting at is this. I've seen so many threads in which people claim that certain AV software packages slow down a computer more or less than others. I personally don't believe any of the decent applications have any real dent in system performance. So, that being said, I'm looking for some software that will give me some form of system performance in a quantifiable manner, so I can see how these different apps compare against each other. I'm thinking a game demo wouldn't work as well here as something else. Any suggestions?
 
I guess I should have posted it, but I am looking for a Windows based utility.
