Has anyone bench marked any Synology systems with USB3 (I know they have dual port GigE-- and they work great) but I know of someone who is interested in one that has USB3, how do the rates compare vs. GigE/Dual GigE?

They can pull/push ~90-100MiB/s no issues over single-port GigE

I just want to make you aware, you cannot access the data on the NAS via USB. The USB ports are for connecting external USB drives to the NAS and then accessing them via the GigE via a network.

Just sounded like that's how you thought they could work when you said you were comparing them to the GigE speed.

There is no way to access a single file on the NAS any faster than 1 gigabit per second. Dual ports only increases total bandwidth over multiple connections.
