Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
how would i go about changing my power button (removed) into a switch. When i say switch i mean like one of those metal ones looks like a light switch. I guess what i am really asking is how do i wire a switch(metal ones(might get a pic later))
How to wire a switch.
If it's got 2 prongs attach the wires to it, doesn't matter which way.
If it has 3 prongs, attach one wire to the middle and the other wire to one of the outside ones.
As for the power button, keep in mind you can't just use an on/off switch. You need a switch that only contacts momentarily whan you turn the system on.
Remember that you will probably want a momentary switch (one that springs back), otherwise when in the on position, it would be like holding the switch closed.
any switch will work but they will work difrently, a simple on off switch will work (on, pc turns on, off pc says on, on pc turns off, off pc stays off, on pc turns on)
or you can use a on off on (down, nutral up) wire both ons to the pins, on 1 turns on, off does nothing, on2 turns off
or get a momentary switch (that makes "on" contact for only a moment.
when your turning on a pc you have to complete the circut between two pins on the mobo, once they are connected the pc changes state, they can stay connected threw that state, but they will also stay is that state when dissconected, (if i jump them and my pc is off it will come on, if i take away the contact the pc will stay on, if i return the contact the pc will turn off, if i remove the contact the pc is still off)
I want the switch which is currently above this post that is the switch i tried to describe I guess my question is answered your saying that his switch if i understand this connects them momentarily when he lifts up on it and then again monetarily when he pushes down in the middle the jumpers(right word?)/circuit is completed momentarily of course.....ATM??automated time machine? atomate teller machine? What do you mean
