ok, i have these two nice sony speakers.
then i have a set of computer speakers with a subwoofer.
would it be possible to replace the two desktop speakers with the sonys and hook them up to the subwoofer? one port for the speakers is a normal plug, but the other is this one with the volume control and power button on it along with the speakers. can it be done?
 
Computer speakers and home stereo speakers should never be mixed. Your desktop speakers/subwoofer system was designed to work only with each other, nothing else. The amp inside the sub will not drive the Sony's. Even if you get a sound out of this idea, you will end up damaging something.
 
ok thanks, ill just use a spare amp i have then. i was really hoping to setup a sub though. :(
