Switching resolutions on an LCD TV?

Hey all,

I'm looking to replace my 5-year old 27" CRT TV with something more fitting for a media center PC. I have been looking into several 32" LCD panels that sport PC compatibility. One thing I can't seem to find out on any of these TVs is how well LCD TVs handle non-native resolution. My main concern for this is the fact that I run a lot of emulators that would not conform to the TV's native resolution, and would instead use primarily VGA (640x480) and SVGA (800x600).

Could any LCD TV owners out there tell me how gracefully their TVs handle other resolutions, such as VGA/SVGA?

I'm using a 27" HD LCDTV for computer use and it handles the low resolution stuff just fine.
Certain resolutions it will auto switch to 16:9 or you can set it to 1:1 via the TV's menu. At some resolutions I can select 16:9, 4:3 or 1:1. 1:1 means it uses one screen pixel per resolution pixel. This gives the sharpest image when using lower resolutions but it looks fine at 4:3 and even 16:9 if you are not critical about stretching. Seeing my mb's bios at full screen 16:9 is pretty cool.
