and its also unlikely youd be able to clone to the RAID as well
if you could, you would be able to break the RAID1 mirror
and with one of those drives, and the other 2 drives
build a three drive array then clone from the broken mirror to it,
but as I mentioned that is often problematic,
parity arrays having a much lower chance of a successful clone operation
besides, youd be loosing considerable space efficiency by not including that extra drive in the array,
the more drives the better in RAID5
you need to backup your data in any event (if you havent already)
Id do a fresh install, and carefully review instructions for making it a bootable array
actually I dont load my OS on the RAID 5
just data, there is a considerable write penalty normally
not the best place for the OS and swapfile
anything you want stored on the RAID that is normally on the OS
you simply mount a volume as a folder in NTFS
(a partition on the array becomes one of the folders in the OS directory)
but keep in mind the write penalty when your doing that,
so maybe my docs, but not for instance the temp folder
Id say break the mirror, buy an extra drive, build a four channel RAID 5
and just copy the data over, has the added advantage of easy migration to various boxes

you simply add the card, let the new OS dedtect it, hardware wizard pops up, add the driver, and your good to go,
beats the hell out trying to sysprep an array and make it bootable in a migration
A few controllers have a thing called RAID level migration, where you can change between some RAID setups. But if you're switching from a onboard RAID 1 solution you will lose your data. Or at least, you will not be able to keep your data intact.
