Hello;

A friend gave me an old switch he had found, however it seems to be broken.
It's a d-link des-3526 managed 24-port switch.

The power light is blinking, and it does not have any lights light up when cables are plugged in, neither on the computers network card or on the switch.

The network cable is good, it works with a different switch, and I have tried using a different power cord.

Any way to get this working?

Anything on the serial console?

Assuming the blinking indicates a fault, it's probably not something you're going to be able to repair yourself, but the console may indicate what the fault is.

I do not have a console set up. If its necessary how would I do that?

Get a serial cable and terminal application, plug into serial port, plug into switch console port. Start terminal application with correct settings for switch.

Have you tried doing a reset of the switch? Not sure what the procedure is for the switch, but, that is what I would try. Outside of that, perhaps the power supply is toast?
