Swiftech's GPU block Question

I inserted a 1/2" OD -> 3/8" OD barb converter into my swiftech MCW-50 GPU block. Is there anyway to get these fittings out once you insert them? It looks like once you decide to use a barb there's no taking it out and ability to switch to a different one in the future.

You can remove additional fittings from the built in quick-connect fittings on the MCW-50. It's hard, but it's possible. Don't try too hard though or you may mess up the seal and you definitely don't want it leaking.

I'm not really sure how that works. What do you do, pull out on the barb and squeeze the collet in? Also, where can I find 90 degree barbs for this? I'm using 3/8" ID ClearFlex tubing.

You would think something called "quick connect" would be able to disconnect quickly as well. If I knew swiftech's gpu block was going to be a pain in the ass I would have never bought it. I don't know if I can spend another $40 for another one.

Well not to make light of your situation but it does say quick "connect" not disconnect. ;)

Anyways, I got mine off by being very careful. You may want to shoot an e-mail to swiftech and as them directly how to do it.

theres instrustion with the mcw50 on how to take out the barb its very easy just have a look at it...

Well damn, I got it out fairly easy. I only wish I came here before I hacked off the first one. :( Looks like I'm off to purchase a new one.

Thanks for the help, again.

Good rule of thumb for anything I ever do.

"Measure twice, cut once".

Sucks that you have to get a new one, but now you know. Maybe Swiftech will RMA it for you?
