so I just bought my new water cooling setup, mcp650 pump, 6002 waterblock, 5.25" reservoir, and a h20-120 radiator with panaflo fan.......... I hook it all up beautiful BUT WAIT water droplets on the bottom the case. I check around no leaks then I notice some droplets by my cpu..... and its building up and then dropping off on to my brand new NEO4 SLI motherboard. So i pull the block off and it has a pin hole leak where its seemed together. If swiftech calls this quality, then maybe I just need to sell all my stuff and goto air cooling. I thought I had it turned off fast enough to prevent damage but I just tried to boot it and theres no video now... I can hear the hard drive posting but no video... SO who knows. I just thought I would let everyone know.
 
ummm...you should have leak tested for at least 6 hours preferably 24 hours with all of the computer components OFF. You just need to short out a connection on the psu to get it to run w/o being connected to any components but the pump. When you saw there was a leak you should have mopped up all the water you could, taken everything out of the sockets (vid card and cpu and such) because water can get into the sockets, and then you should have let it sit in the sun or under a heat lamp for at least 24-48 hours to make sure it is COMPLETELY dry.

Then you put everything back in and you are good to go. You wont fry anything if there is no current going through it when the leak occurs. Although it seems like you have already done the damage to the board....

As for the swiftech, this is the second time I have heard of someone having problems with it leaking where they brazed the two halfs together, while two people isn't very much, it sure is alarming to hear of the same exact problem twice, probably something swiftech should look into.
 
ok update I used my air compressor and blew out some trapped water behind the connectors and a hair dryer for the last 2 hours and its bone dry... Test booted it without a heat sink and it came on. I immediately shut it back down to prevent over heating damage as I have no method of cooling until a new block comes. I honestly didnt know how to short my PSU out but I'm quickly learning. My new block is being over nighted I was just wondering if someone could help me out with shorting the correct pins. Heres a link to my pin out LINK . I know pin 16 needs to see ground is COM the ground? Thanks for the help guys maybe I wont be so stupid in the future.
 
you just have to connect the green wire to any of the ground wires(black)
 
thanks i thought so just wanted to make sure, I just wonder what kind of quality control swiftech has... Two in the past few months that we know of. They might want to think of changing the design or manufacturing process.
