Swiftech announced a new VGA waterblock MCW82. Its much less restrictive than the MCW80. Here is an upgrade path for free or $10.

Just ordered a MCW80 last week and I am deciding whether or not I should pay the $10 and upgrade to the 82. I am wondering if I would see big gains on a Laing 655 pump or not by upgrading to the 82 for less restrictive flow?

What else do you have on your loop? The D5 pumps aren't as good as the DDC when it comes to higher restriction.

I just have a Rasa CPU block and a RX360 Rad. Thats why I am thinking I should upgrade to the MCW 82. Much less restriction. I haven't added the 80 yet to my loop and I am thinking I should upgrade to the 82 before I add a GPU cooler to the loop.

Update: Jab-tech customer service contacted me and informed they are shipping me a new one and not the old one once they get it from swiftech.

If you can get the new waterblock for an additional 10 bucks, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't do it. Especially since you haven't mounted the block yet. Draining the loop and adding an additional mount always takes some extra work on your part.
