im thinking of going with water cooling, as my proc is too hot, i dont like noise, and i like putting things together, lol. Now, i dont want to do alot of reserch on a whole lot of individual parts ect ect so i was thinking about a kit, and this one caught my eye, the swiftech H20-8600-A watercooling kit for amd athlon processors - link: http://www.directron.com/h208600a.html and http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-108-029&depa=0. cheaper on the first place. does anyone have any experince with this kit and or parts in the kit? id like to know how quietly it operates, how cool it keeps things, and how much work it is to maintain. it will be cooling the system in my sig, that GT will be here at the end of this week.. will this be enough to cool the vid card and hte proc? thanks in advance!

I recently just purchased this set up, but I got a second Rad, and a Heater Core on top my PC. The system runs flawless for me, and I'm running around 36C Idle and 39C load. (Only Tested Doom 3, Not OCed)

It took quite a while to setup, but then again I was cramming a lot into a Mid-Tower case. All-in-all the parts are of the highest quality, and easy to install. I might recommend you get the kit that comes with there newer line of pumps, the MCP650 I believe. It has a lot higher GPH flow rate. Guess I got mine a little too soon...

As For noise level, I still have 6 fas runnin, 2x120mm (Heater Core), 4x80mm (2xDual Rad, 2xCase). I purchased a fan controller, (CoolerMaster Aerogate II), and I can quiet it down to the point that I'm only hearing my HDD's spin. I recomend you wait for the Aerogate III if your interested, it will have a few better features. My need to have everything right now got the best of me there too...

Anyway, if you still got questions about it, feel free to PM me. I got some good pics of my set up, maybe I can post them soon if I figure out how...

My H20-8600A arrives today from Directron and my 8600P brackets and hold down arrive tomorrow from FrozenCPU. I was really sitting the fence for a while on this because I was considering a custom kit from DangerDen. I finally just got the Swifty kit because a) I wanted to get things going quickly and b) as with all things computer related I have no doubt I'll be buying multiple WC setups so if I like the Swifty I'll probably put it in one of my secondary systems and get a DD TDX based setup that has the newer better and quieter D4 which is identical to the Swifty MCP650.

In short, I could have agonized over 1/2" vs. 3/8", blocks, etc. like I have for the past year almost or I could just jump right in and get what I know is a very good kit at a very good price.

If I'm not happy with performance, I'll go get me a heater core and see if I can improve and I'm sure in no time I'll have all 5 of my systems WC'd.

The point is, Swifty makes great stuff that I'm not afraid of at that price point and at least I'll finally be WC. Is going the DD custom setup more 1337? Sure.

Veng: Thanks for the tip on the Aerogate III, I was going to buy the ver. II next week and had no idea a ver. III was coming.
 
awesome, thanks for the replies! only thing left that am i wondering about is the noise, right now all my fans are under 21db, and i love the noise level, but my system gets a little hot sometimes, hence the watercooling idea. hows the noise level on this thing?
