swiftech chipset block

Can the swiftech chipset waterblock fit into an SLI system on both the south and north bridge without getting in the way? If not, what blocks do you reccomend for 3/8" id tubing that are a little more low profile?
Motherboard info and vga card info is necessary. However, it's a safe recommendation that the EK chipset blocks and the Alphacool chipset blocks are low profile enough to slide under 95% of the market's video cards.
why you would need a southbridge waterblock is beyond me
Elimination of annoying fan noise generated by small whiney, death prone chipset fans. For the cost of a Thermalright HR-05 SLI (which I use in my non WC systems), you can get a Swiftech MCR30.
Those with 680i boards will see that their SB's run just as hot NB's for some strange reason. Various techs on Asus and EVGA forums have linked SATA/RAID corruption issues towards high temps and old BIOS versions. EVGA has even endorsed a user mod of dismounting, cleaning and applying after market TIM to lower temps.
But the general answer is usually "because I can" or "because I don't want any fan noise"

The MCW30 will fit underneath your cards as long as you use the new hardmount kit. Make sure you purchase the MCW30 with the hardmount kit. All MCW30's starting from this month on have this included. If for some reason you're missing the hardmount kit, just call up Swiftech and they'll send you one provided you email them proof of your invoice.
