When my MIR come back Ill be looking to get a simple WC kit for my bloomfield. With the heat these guys are putting out, is the 220-compact (with a LGA1366 adapter plate) going to be sufficient for 4.0Ghz and decent temps or is a triple going to be required?

Anybody know if a GTZ based apogee drive is being worked on? The current drive is based on the GT IIRC.
 
AFAIK, the H20-220 Compact kit is sufficient enough to cool most single-overclocked CPU loops. As for the Apogee-based GTZ, the GTZ just came out last August. Might have to wait a little longer.
 
As long as this is the dual version and not the single rad version it should be fine. Newegg has them for $130 right now. Be careful with the Apogee Drive's barbs. They are plastic and they will break if you push on them to hard.
 
ok, thanks. I wont have any trouble hanging the rad off the back of a P180 will I? Will it block the second video port? Im using both for dual screens.
 
No, should come with a radbox that spaces it far enough from the case. Just set the fans up to pull air from the back to the front on the rad, that way you are pulling cool air across it rather than pulling hot air from the case across it.

So towards the case, wonder how that will interact with the GTXs fan blowing out the back. Makes sense at least.
 
Actually, the single version will handle an OC'd processor with little difficulty, and give you roughly super high end air temps. The dual will work even better, lowering temps and allowing you to add more stuff. Gabe told me the 220 could handle a quad core and my 4870, but that sounds a bit ambitious. I'll be going with the 220 and adding an additional rad to it for my GPU.
 
hmm. Maybe Ill get the single and add a second 120 rad if Im not satisfied. I have 2 120 fan mounts right there, seems a shame to hang something outside if I dont have to. (top and rear on the p180)
 
I ran q6600 OC'd to 3.6Ghz at 1.49v with the Swiftech 120. You can always add an additional rad if you want more in the loop. I would only recommend the 220 over the 120 since on Newegg, there is only a $20 difference. One caution, the barbs on the Apogee Drive are plastic and are not removable, therefore they can not be swapped out with metal barbs and if they break, then taht's it, so be careful putting the hosing on the barbs of the Apogee Drive. I broke mine this way and ended up converting it over to a stand alone pump and buying a separate cpu block.
 
2200 will handle CPU, dont worry. When you break the barbs you can take off the cover and buy some top and you will get a nice pump, only cpu block will be necessary then.
 
Ill swap to a GTZ (or newer version) at that point. sounds like the 220 will be fine.
 
I decided to swap cases to a CM 590, has a double fan cutoff on the top already, and its a shitload lighter than the P180 for lan luggage.
The swiftech site says the orientation matters, thats just for filling, right? Shouldnt have any issues with the rad horizontal once its filled and bled?
 
I doubt you'll fit a rad at the top of the case easily. You'll fight depth, but it can be done.
