What's the current sweet spot for price vs. performance for a moderately good gaming rig? Something that can run Crysis and HL2.

Looking at Intel Quad core and AMD 5000+ black edition.

honestly my E2140 @ 2.8 can run crysis with my 8800GTX at 1680x1050 all settings maxed just as fast as my E6850 @ 4Ghz can :)

I would get an E6550 or higher if I were you though, they clock very nicely
