snoopy said:yes...they go straight into a socket in the wall.

Sadly, no it isn't. They are so cheap that the last time I bought fans I thought I'd just buy them to see how the hell they work but I never did. If there are wires and a power inverter, it surely is never shown.Everfalling said:ha ha ha...
that was a joke right?
But exactly what do they plug into? Do you have to strip two wires and wrap them around the metal posts?Everfalling said:electricity goes in one wire, passes through the diode to make light, comes out the other side. not sure what you're confused about here.
Pretty sure most computers have 3mm in them already.revenant said:Hmm... I guess 3mm is smaller? I'd like to see one in action...

Yes, but I'm afraid they don't have metal posts in the trailer park.Staples said:But exactly what do they plug into? Do you have to strip two wires and wrap them around the metal posts?
Thank you. Very informative.SarverSystems said:Your computer already has LEDs in it for the drive activity and power indicators.
To replace an LED with a different color, simply unplug the connector from the motherboard, cut off the old LED, connect the new LED, and replace it. You don't need to worry about polarity... if it doesn't light up, flip the connector around.
The LEDs they are selling are nothing more than standard T1 LEDs. Nothing new, they've been around for YEARS and are commonly used in everything from toasters to TVs. Hell, even your walkman probably has one in it. They arent any special color or brightness or anything. Just standard T1 LEDs.
BTW, for the LED noobs:
T1 = 3mm
T1 3/4 = 5mm
