Wrong sub-forum... but since you took the time to post, let's see.

-CPU and Motherboard: Intel is the king of the hill right now. You can get the same performance for cheaper. You can also get the EVGA 680i, a good SLI mobo for Intel users.

-RAM: Unless you're going with a 64 bit OS, you won't be able to use all 4GB. Stick with two and savor the saved money, or spend it on something else. Which brings me to my next point.

-Hard Drive: That Raptor is fast, but 74 GB will fill up quickly. Get a second 7200 SATA HD for storage. You could spend those savings on it.

-DVD Drive: If you can, get a SATA drive. makes wire management a breeze.

Sorry about the wrong forum XD. I'm an amd fan, and I am planing to use 64-bit OS :D
 
Yeah, I have an AMD fan for my friend. He says whenever I tell him about C2D, that "You can pry my Athlon from my cold dead hands!" :D

You going wiht 64-bit XP or Vista? 64-bit XP is a disaster, fyi.

No problem with the wrong forum, just the mods might not like it.
