ive recently been on the prowl for monitor to hook up to the ol laptop. currently have an asus g75vx with a graphics card capable of handling pretty much any resolution i want. it doesnt have a dvi input but DOES have thunderbolt port and hdmi port

id really like to avoid getting a hdmi > dvi dual converter . that being the case, can i get a chord connecting my thunderbolt port on the lappy to the DP port on the monitor?pic of port of monitor. http://www.accessorieswhole.com/imag...H2700_DP_7.jpg

more importantly, if i can connect the two via the aforementioned method will it be able to run the monitor at its highest resolution?

Um, your links are broken, but...

If that's a Shimian with displayport, you can use a displayport cable to get max resolution. If it doesn't have displayport, you'll need a displayport to Dual-Link dvi adapter.
