got a mystique sound card and z-5500 speakers. Iv tried everything and still only get 2.1 from counterstrike. anyone know what I am doing wrong?
 
Go to windows sound properties, click advanced, and make sure 5.1 speakers is selected in the drop down box. There is a bug in the drivers which causes it to revert to 2 speakers every time you restart the computer so you need to set it to 5.1 each time you restart.

Also, in the Xear3D sound configuration, make sure you have DDL enabled.

And in CS:S check the audio properties to make sure it is set to 5.1 speakers.

You may want to check the steam forums regarding issues with Soundstorm DDLive and the Source Engine games. I seem to remember that there was some issue regarding DDLive output that was addressed and fixed. Maybe the fix would be relevant to the Mystique as well?

Nevermind the fact that I fail to understand why the game would need to have any kind of specific support/fix for DDLive output. I thought encoding the multi-channel output to a DD stream was totally independent from the game....

hey man how are them speakers did u have any sound problems when u first put them on your pc i only ask cause i brought some the other day but my sound keep cutting out and i got wierd stuff on the control panel unit.
