Hey, I was looking at the Asus Crosshair, does anyone know anything about that Supreme FX soundcard that comes with it? I was going to get an Audigy before I saw this board because I want to build a Linux/BSD gaming rig. But I have no idea what audio chipset the Supremefx uses, or what driver support is offered.

Some sites are telling me it uses a "ADI 1988B 8-channel" chipset, though I'm not sure as that is listed as the onboard audio for M2N32s as well. And I still can't figure out who makes the audio chipset. Or if it is actually the one used in the SupremeFX or if it is just listed by some sites because it is used on the M2N32 boards.

Okay, official manual from Asus says it is a AD1988B card, and ALSA has at least acknowledged those cards, not sure what the progress is, it sounds like AD1988A at least has drivers.

And it sounds like those drivers are not compatible with the 1988B chipsets, but I'll probably have to ask someone in the ALSA project.
