Maybe this will finally shut up the Starcraft (puke!) f/\anb01s. :)

Those transports are so damn cool, and those spiders too. Oh, and those mobile factories are awesome as well. Can't wait to get this game in my hands :D

Starcraft !!!!!!s are a different pedigree. Some people like SC, it has quite a bit of micromanagement to do. Its an RTS, but its like comparing Rise of Nations and Age of Empires.

That said, I prefer TA to SC. I like the automated resource gathering, the fact that you can queue up commands so that you can focus on the battlefield when fights happen and not have to worry about your resource harvesters. I love the fact that you can initiate combat on one side of the map with your entire force and
A) Not have to worry about a unit cap as
B) you have a second army building in an outpost that's cloaked ready to smash a hopefully defenseless enemy encampment.

gah, i have to wait till after work to get all giggidy over this :(

edit: wow the super tank fights were amazing, brings me back to the original days, and MAN can you zoom out, that is freakin awsome

heh in TA, there were maps with requirements up to 64megs of system memory! which was unheard of! i can only imagine this with a requirement of 2 gigs

You have no idea how much I want this game. I',m sick of modern RTSs micro management. I WANT MACRO MANAGEMENT WITH MASSIVE BATTLES!

this is the best footage released so far, though the framerate is a bit sluggish in some parts because the computer running the game must have been struggling with all of those units battling on the screen :D

oh and i editted my first post to include the new footage

Hope there'll be maps with a little more distinct topology, seems mostly like flat land so far. But looking good so far. I hope they get some co-op features in there. It took a few patches for iron and energy sharing to make it into the original TA. Now, with these massive battles it'd be nice if multiple people could share units, even to the extent that multiple people are in fact playing the same side. Would give MP that extra twist, and make for more varied matchups (good player with newbie vs two average players, etc).

from the extreme macro management this game seems to be advertising i would assume they want it to be multiple people on teams, sharing the same common goal and building site

it would take alot of random building and automated bot building to get something that big, and keep feeding units into all the battles thats going on in the game

i mean jeesus they had a huge ship battle in at least 3 different places, air battles all over the place a tank stand off in the middle with reinforcements coming from the water and land, as well as carriers dropping troops into each persons base, its mass chaos!
